The Grunts are the average infantry for Xenos. They are caretakers and utilize a type of Particle Projectile Rifle. They are generally easy to kill, but in swarms are dangerous.

N.O.V.A.

The grunts are one of the most common enemies of the first N.O.V.A, appearing in almost all of its levels (with the exception of the ninth and last level). Be careful as they can use N.O.V.A.'s Machine Gun Turrets. They have different Variants of three different colors which appear in certain levels of the game, all of these share the characteristic that they are stronger and more difficult to kill than standard Grunts. These also have Jet-Packs attached to their armor how it is shown in the Firefight level, Firefight (Part 2) and Wrong Way Out of Eden.

• They bear close resemblance to the Elites of the Halo franchise
• They appear very similar to Fighters from Marathon but their attack strategies are very different
• The Grunt is multiplayer character in N.O.V.A. Legacy.
